There is a lot to do on a farm everyday, but this month is CRAZY

This month at Celestial Farms, we are gearing up for some major events, including our annual Spring Fling and Craft Fair on March 12th, and a wedding! Not only is there a lot to do on the actual days of those events, but also leading up to it – finishing some projects we started this winter and making sure everything is ready and ship-shape for the crowd we are expecting this year.

We Need YOU to Volunteer to Help Get Ready for it All!

In preparation for this, Lisa has written a letter, which she emailed out to the folks she could, but I thought it would be nice to let everyone know – just in case she didn’t have your email address!!

Here is Lisa’s Letter

Hello everyone! This is an update going out to all current, past, and potential volunteers at Celestial Farms! Just want to get you all up to speed on what’s going on in March. We will be having our Spring Fling on Saturday, March 12th, from 9am to 2pm. We will be having our big prep and new volunteer day on Saturday, March 5th, from 9am to 2pm. We need all the help we can get on both days! There’s going to be a lot to do, and a lot of fun to be had.

We are also now offering free Bus Passes to help out anyone who needs help getting transportation. Just bus over to River City Marketplace, and grab the shuttle up Duval Rd.They’ll drop you off right in front of the farm!  We will provide you with one of the new SMART Cards JTA is rolling out, with the funds for 2 bus trips. We <3 public transportation!

There have been a lot of the changes at the farm, so if you haven’t been over in awhile, come check it out! We’re making progress like you wouldn’t believe. There’s a new rabbit yard, a new pavilion, fishing docks, you can now actually SEE the blueberry field, new rescued animals and new pens! And, if nature cooperates, we might have some new arrivals by the 5th. I am, of course, talking BABY GOATS AND SHEEP. Four of our ladies are heavily pregnant, and due to pop any hour now! We also have baby rabbits (still in their nests, we wont be seeing much of them for another few weeks).

On the 5th, we will be working on a new fence and gate for the expanded parking area, tidying public spaces, working on the new pavilion, coordinating flier distribution, and petting the animals. On the 16th, we will need volunteers to act as Parking Ushers, Bouncy House Supervisors, Barn And Garden Tour Guides, Shop and Concession Assistants, and Petting Zoo Attendants.

Please keep in mind that volunteers still must be 16 or older to volunteer without a parent or guardian. New volunteers must sign a few forms, including a waiver and volunteer application. We will happily sign off on any volunteer paperwork. Celestial Farms is a 501c3 registered non-profit.

Let me know if you’re interesting in attending either event!

Last Saturday I made out a volunteer application and I not heard anything yet. I have other skills that I did not list. I have some training in using draft horses, using a beam plow, harnessing draft horses, building fences presently raising chickens I have other skills its better to talk in person. I live about 10 minutes from the farm. My wife and I would like become members of the farm family. Thank you for your time. My phone number is 904-379-8089
