Volunteers and Co-Op Members are always needed in the community garden. We receive donated food and other items throughout the year and harvest our own food products from our Community Garden. As items come in, a mass text goes out to all on the Co-Op list with details of items available. Items are passed out by first come, first served basis.
Many people in our city do not have the space necessary to raise animals or garden and may not have the knowledge to do so. We also offer Co-Op families a garden plot to grow their own organic food or have a share of the community crops. While showing you how to care for this patch, we will teach you the skills needed to grow your own garden at home. It can take very little space – even a balcony – to grow enough veggies for a small family. Or you can apply the knowledge to growing a therapeutic garden to sit and enjoy nature in your own environment. Assistive devices can be made available to those in need.
